Hello from the Magpie Shed!
July has been extremely busy! I took part in Cambridge Open Studios this year for the first time as a printmaker and was bowled over at the amount of people who came to look, talk and buy, thank you so much for your support if you did, it means so much!
Lots of new ideas are brewing and I can’t wait to get back in the studio and start making again. I’ll keep you posted with new work as I go! I am working towards the big Print East Fair on October 12th at the Anthenaeum, Bury St Edmunds (10.30-4.30pm) where I will be exhibiting and giving a workshop. There are also other markets planned in Royston on the 21st November and 12th December at the Town Hall (10-2pm)- it would be lovely to see you there!
Talking of workshops, I am planning two workshops to take place here at the Magpie Shed, in September and November, these will be inroduction to linocut (in September) and a tetrapak workshop (in November), I’ll be sending out more details at the end of August and would love to see you at one of them. Places are limited to 4 per workshop and the price will be very reasonable and have materials included :-)

Pressing matters challenge winner-issue 32
I was delighted to win the Issue 32 colour challenge of Pressing Matters magazine with my collagraph and lino print of Old Yeller. This piece grew out of a brilliant 3 day course with the excellent Charles Shearer in August 2025. The image itself comes from one of my sketchbooks- I was on a train from Cambridge to Liverpool Street and this dog sat nobly looking out of the window, lost in daydreams. I couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking about.
